Privacy Policy

Magic Weight is a weight-management coach. It only works if you tell it what you ate and what the scale said, so this page is specific about where that goes. It describes what the app actually does, not what a template says it might.
What we collect
- Your account. Email address, and if you sign in with Google, the name and profile picture Google returns. We never see your Google password.
- What you log. Meals and their nutrition estimates, activity and calories burned, weigh-ins, and daily targets.
- Your profile. Height, age or date of birth, sex, goal weight, activity level, dietary approach, unit preference and timezone — plus any health condition you choose to record, because it changes the targets the app suggests. Sex is used for one thing: the metabolic formula has a different constant for men and women, and without it your maintenance estimate is out by around 150 kcal a day. You can leave it as “rather not say” and the app uses the midpoint.
- Your conversation. Messages between you and the coach, so it remembers what you discussed.
- Photos you send — meals, or a screenshot of your watch.
- Progress photos, if you choose to add any. They are stored privately to your account, are never sent to the coach or shown to anyone else, and you can delete any of them from the Progress screen.
There is no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking in this app. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the processors listed below.
Who it is shared with
Three services process your data so the app can work:
- Supabase stores your account and everything you log, and handles sign-in.
- Anthropic provides the model behind the coach. Your message, the relevant recent entries, and any photo you send are transmitted so it can reply. Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models.
- Vercel hosts the app and serves it to your browser.
Health information
Weight, what you eat, and any condition you record are sensitive. They are stored under database rules that scope every row to your account, so one user cannot read another's data. Only record a health condition if you want it to shape the app's suggestions; you can remove it at any time on the You screen.
Your data, your call
- See and correct it. Every weigh-in, meal and activity entry is editable in the app, on the Progress screen.
- Delete it. Email atout1@gmail.com and your account and everything in it will be deleted. No retention period, no copy kept.
- Take it with you. Ask and we will send you an export of everything stored against your account.
We keep your data for as long as you have an account. Deleting the account deletes the data.
Children
Magic Weight is not intended for anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is handled, the date at the top changes and we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
